Founding Spirit
“Make it so that it can be repaired.”
Shigeo Hosaka opened his workshop in Kamata in 1949, when new equipment could not be had at any price and every factory in the district depended on machines that had to be kept running. He repaired radios and instruments, and the lesson he took from that work was the one he gave his first employees: whatever we make, someone will one day have to open it up and fix it, and we should make that easy for them.
The maxim is still on the wall of the Kamata Service Center, which stands on the site of the first workshop. We read it today as a commitment to design for the whole life of our customers' equipment: to choose parts that will still be available, to document what we build, and to keep supplying and repairing our products for as long as our customers need them.
Mission
We support the work of society with control technology that lasts.
The Hosaka Values
- 1
Durability
We design for the full working life of our customers' equipment, which is often longer than the life of any one of our products.
- 2
Sincerity
We tell our customers the truth about our products, including when it is inconvenient for us, and we keep our records so that the truth can be checked.
- 3
Long commitment
Once a customer has built our product into their equipment, we keep supplying, repairing and supporting it for as long as we have promised, and longer if we can.
- 4
Respect for the end user
Behind every customer is someone who relies on the equipment: a patient, a passenger, an operator. We keep that person in mind, although we will never meet them.
