Hosaka Corporation
Further to our notice of March 21, 2025, we report the results of the investigation into unauthorized access to a server operated by our U.S. subsidiary, Hosaka America, Inc.
The investigation, carried out with an external forensic specialist, found that a third party used the credentials of a former contractor to sign in to the subsidiary's customer support portal between March 9 and March 18, 2025, and viewed the names, business email addresses and business telephone numbers of 1,184 representatives of customers in North America. No product software, design data, firmware signing keys or payment information was stored on the server, and we have found no evidence that the information has been misused.
We have contacted the affected customers individually. As measures to prevent recurrence, Hosaka America has introduced multi-factor authentication for all portal accounts, a quarterly review of accounts held by contractors and former employees, and monitoring of sign-in activity by the Group security operations centre.
We apologize sincerely for the concern and inconvenience caused to our customers and other stakeholders.
